      Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the profitability of endowment life insurance products with last survivor status using the profit testing method. This method analyzes cash inflows and outflows over the policy, by considering variations in policy terms (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years) and the entry ages of insured couples (35 and 30, 45 and 40, also 55 and 50 years). The data used includes the 2023 Indonesian Mortality Table and the annual effective interest rate based on the BI-7 Day Reverse Repo Rate. The results show that the policy term has a significant impact on profitability. A 15-year policy term yields the highest net present value of profit, amounting to Rp1.701.362, while a 30-year policy term produces the highest profit margin at 5,82%, making it more efficient in generating profit per unit of premium. In addition, younger entry ages are proven to generate higher profit margins, with the 35 and 30-year-old couple being the most optimal combination. These findings indicate that the selection of policy term and entry age of the insured plays a crucial role in designing insurance products that achieve optimal profitability.
