      Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of complete feed pellets based on Indigofera on nutrient digestibility in sheep. The research was conducted at the Jonggol Teaching and Research Animal Unit (UP3J), IPB University. A randomized block design was used with 15 weaned male Priangan sheep weighing between 15.73 ± 3.15 kg. The study consisted of three treatments: P1 (complete feed pellet with 20% indigofera, 19% crude fiber), P2 (20% indigofera, 18% crude fiber), and P3 (10% indigofera, 17% crude fiber). Treatments P2 and P3 showed higher intake of dry matter, ash, crude protein, crude fiber, nitrogen-free extract (NFE), and total digestible nutrients (TDN) compared to P1. The highest ether extract intake was observed in P1 and P2. Digestibility of dry matter, ash, crude protein, and NFE did not differ significantly among treatments. Ether extract digestibility was higher in P1 and P2 than in P3. Crude fiber digestibility in P1 was lower than P2 but not significantly different from P3. The highest digestible nutrient content was observed in P2 and differed significantly among treatments. Overall, P2 (20% indigofera, 18% crude fiber) was the most optimal in terms of intake, digestibility, and digestible nutrient supply.
