      Abstract
Vaname shrimp farming (Litopenaeus vannamei) is closely related to water quality, so there are often problems with declining aquaculture water quality which has a direct impact on reducing shrimp quality. The decline in water quality is influenced by several factors such as the accumulation of residual feed, feces and other suspended organic solids that increase water turbidity. Therefore, it is necessary to use a filter with a recirculation system to improve water quality during cultivation. This study aims to analyze the effect of using the right filter combination in the absorption of suspended particles to maintain water quality and support the survival of vaname shrimp. The method used was a complete randomized design consisting of three replications. The differences applied were control that did not use filters, P1 with ceramic ring media, P2 pumice, and P3 bioball. The parameters observed were survival rate, absolute weight growth, specific growth rate, feed conversion ratio, temperature, pH, salinity, dissolved oxygen, total ammonia nitrogen (TAN), nitrite, nitrate, alkalinity, and total suspended solids (TSS). Treatment using bioball filter media showed the best results based on survival rate (81.66%), growth and water quality.
