The tourism sector in the ASEAN region plays a strategic role in increasing per capita income and supporting economic growth. This study aims to analyze the effect of international tourism receipts on per capita income in ASEAN countries, while considering the role of tourism infrastructure, represented by the number of hotels, as a moderating variable. The study uses annual panel data from 2003 to 2019 covering six ASEAN countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Cambodia. The analysis employs a panel data regression model with the Fixed Effect Model approach. The results show that international tourism receipts, financial sector development, and labor force participation rate have a significant positive effect on per capita income. Tourism infrastructure, proxied by the number of hotels, is proven to strengthen the positive relationship between international tourism receipts and per capita income. These findings imply that improving the quality and capacity of tourism infrastructure is an important strategy to maximize the economic benefits of the tourism sector in the ASEAN region.
