      Abstract

Remittances are household incomes sent by migrant workers. The motivation behind migrants sending remittances can be driven by various factors, such as climate change due to carbon emissions, economic uncertainty, and financial development. Between 1983 – 2023, fluctuations in carbon emissions, economic uncertainty, and financial development result in different responses from remittances inflow. This may be due to the possible existence of an asymmetric relationship. This study analyzes the asymmetric effects of carbon emisson, economic uncertainty, and financial development with Nonlinear Autoregressive Distributed Lag (NARDL) method. This approach captures both short and long-run asymmetric dynamics between the independent and dependent variables. The findings reveal significant asymmetric effects of economic uncertainty in short and long run and asymmetric impacts from financial sector development in the long run
