      Abstract

Dermatophytosis is a skin disease caused by dermatophyte molds in the keratinized layers of the skin, such as the skin, hair and nails. This disease is often found in cats and is zoonotic. This study aims to determine the prevalence of dermatophytosis in cats at RSHP IPB University and the factors that influence the incidence of dermatophytosis in cats. This study was conducted descriptively using 640 cat patient medical record data. The data obtained were then processed and analyzed with the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test. The results showed that there were 35 cat patients with confirmed dermatophytosis within one year from August 2023 - August 2024 with a prevalence of 18.28%. Factors that influence the incidence of dermatophytosis are personal hygiene, temperature and humidity, breed, and age. Young cats and outdoor cats are the most susceptible to dermatophytosis. The prevalence of dermatophytosis at IPB University Veterinary Hospital is low when compared to the prevalence of dermatophytosis in cats in several places in Bogor Regency and City.
