      Abstract

The energy transition is a solution to climate change caused by the use of fossil fuels. However, the energy transition is still considered new and underutilized, making communication an essential aspect. One method of delivering this message is through educational videos, and message reception can be measured through perceived message effectiveness (PME). Based on this, message emphasis is necessary to maximize message reception through message framing. The purpose of this study is to identify differences in perceived message effectiveness received through different message framings in educational videos and among recipients with varying psychographic characteristics. This study used a survey method with a quantitative approach involving 80 11th-grade students from SMP Negeri 1 Cibungbulang. The data were analyzed using normality tests and the Mann Whitney test. The results showed no significant difference between risky choice and goal framing in terms of PME. However, there was a significant difference between positive and negative psychographic characteristics in relation to PME, indicating that students with high psychographic characteristics are more receptive to energy transition messages.
