      Abstract

Joint life insurance is a type of life insurance policy that covers two individuals and continues premium payments until one of the insured individuals passes away. In the insurance industry, companies are required to calculate the reserve for insurance benefits. This reserve is a certain amount of funds that must be prepared by the insurance company to pay out claims in the future when insurance claims are submitted. The premium sufficiency method is a calculation method for the reserve for insurance benefits using a gross premiums while considering the company's operational costs. In this study, mortality table are utilized to calculate the value of the benefit reserve. Mortality tables generally present the insured's age as integer therefore, a fractional age assumption is needed such as the Balducci assumption to calculate benefit reserves for insured individuals whose entry age is not an integer. Based on the analysis results, with the same interest rate and amount of coverage, it was found that the amount of reserve for joint life whole life insurance benefits increased as the age of the insured increased.
