      Tingkat Pengetahuan dalam Penggunaan Parasetamol dan NSAIDs (Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) untuk Swamedikasi pada Mahasiswa SKHB IPB

      Abstract
      Swamedikasi menggunakan parasetamol dan NSAIDs (Nonsteroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs) merupakan praktik yang umum dilakukan oleh mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui jenis dan tingkat pengetahuan dalam penggunaan sediaan obat tersebut di kalangan mahasiswa SKHB IPB. Penelitian menggunakan kuesioner pada 89 mahasiswa SKHB IPB dengan metode snowball sampling. Kuesioner mencakup 10 aspek pengetahuan yaitu indikasi, kontraindikasi, bahan aktif, kombinasi, mekanisme aksi, cara penggunaan, efek samping, polusi farmaseutikal, swamedikasi parasetamol dan NSAIDs untuk hewan, serta efek obat tersebut pada kucing. Analisis deskriptif menunjukan jenis obat yang banyak digunakan mahasiswa SKHB IPB adalah parasetamol (60%) dan ibuprofen (19%) dengan indikasi utama untuk demam (26%) dan sakit kepala (19%). Tingkat pengetahuan mahasiswa SKHB IPB secara umum penggunaan sediaan parasetamol dan NSAIDs berada pada kategori sedang (64%), dengan pengetahuan terbaik pada aspek efek samping obat dan swamedikasi parasetamol dan NSAIDs untuk hewan, sementara pengetahuan masih sangat rendah pada aspek mekanisme aksi dan kombinasi obat.
       
      Self-medication using paracetamol and NSAIDs (Nonsteroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs) is a common practice among students. This study aims to determine the types and levels of knowledge regarding the use of these drugs among SKHB IPB students. A questionnaire was administered to 89 SKHB IPB students using a snowball sampling method. The questionnaire covered ten aspects of knowledge: indications, contraindications, active ingredients, drug combinations, mechanisms of action, usage instructions, side effects, pharmaceutical pollution, self-medication of paracetamol and NSAIDs in animals, and the effects of these drugs on cats. Descriptive analysis showed that the most frequently used drugs were paracetamol (60%) and ibuprofen (19%), primarily for fever (26%) and headaches (19%). Overall knowledge was moderate (64%), with the best understanding in drug side effects and self-medication of drugs for animals. In contrast, knowledge was still limited regarding the mechanisms of action and drug combinations.
