Pemantauan kondisi fisiologis mencakup frekuensi detak jantung, frekuensi napas, suhu tubuh, turgor kulit, dan Capillary Refill Time.
One type of treatment for tumors in the reproductive organs is castration surgery. The percentage of postoperative complications ranges from 2.6%–20% and the percentage of death is less than 0.1%. Evaluation of physiological conditions, wound care, and postoperative therapy need to be done to prevent further complications and support optimal recovery. An 11-year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi dog was monitored and treated for 9 days after castration surgery. Monitoring of physiological conditions includes heart rate, respiratory rate, body temperature, skin turgor, and capillary refill time. Handling and treatment of wound conditions were also carried out during the hospitalization period. The results showed that the dog's physiological parameters after surgery were an increase in heart rate from 44x/minute to 68x/minute, a decrease in respiratory rate from 56x/minute to 24x/minute and a decrease in body temperature from 37,9°C to 37,3°C after 2 hours after surgery, turgor parameters <2 seconds, CRT <2 seconds, and pink mucosa indicating good circulation and hydration status. Wound healing occurred for 9 days after surgery and discharged with improved wound healing progress.
