      Abstract

The Garut District Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and the Communication and Information Agency (Diskominfo) Garut Regency recorded 7 and 8 landslide incidents in 2020 and 2023 in Banjarwangi Subdistrict. These incidents were triggered by steep to very steep slopes with landslide-prone soil and rock types, as well as heavy rainfall. This study aims to identify landslide-prone areas with various variations in maximum and average rainfall from daily, decadal, monthly, and annual rainfall data to evaluate the accuracy of landslide hazard maps validated with landslide occurrence points using the DVMBG 2004 parameters. The analysis results show that maximum rainfall variation has a hazard classification of 99,14%. Meanwhile, average rainfall variation shows a less hazardous classification of 76,10%. The level of rainfall affects the hazard or less hazardous classification, thereby impacting the validation value. The validation of landslide hazard area suitability showed low accuracy, with 45,5% validated and 54,5% not validated. Therefore, the DVMBG 2004 model needs to be adjusted by updating basic equations of the mapping scale details in order to achieve a higher accuracy.
