      Abstract

Feed constitutes the most significant component of production costs in layer duck farming, accounting for approximately 60–70% of total production expenses. The complete feed commonly used by companies tends to be relatively expensive in the Yogyakarta region, prompting consideration of alternative, more affordable feed brands in making feed replacement decisions. This study aims to analyze the productivity of layer ducks, determine the level of profitability, and compare the profitability of different feed brands to inform corporate decision-making in feed selection. The research employed an experimental method using a post-test only control group design. Data analysis was conducted using a descriptive-quantitative approach, focusing on productivity and profitability indicators. The results indicate that the treatment group receiving Feed X exhibited higher productivity. Supported by its lower price, this resulted in greater profitability. Therefore, Feed X can be considered a suitable alternative for the current production cycle by gradually transitioning from the previous feed (feed Y) to new feed (feed X), and full adoption is suggested for subsequent production cycles.
