Deer are wild animals that have great potential to be used as a source of animal protein for people's food. Of the four types of deer endemic to Indonesia, sambar deer and timor deer have great potential to be used for this purpose because they are large in size, have been widely used by people living around the forest which is their natural habitat, and are easy to cultivate. Sambar deer and timor deer captive breeding are needed so that both types of deer can be optimally utilized by humans without having to reduce their population in natureid
