      Abstract

Efficient water utilisation is an important aspect of water conservation, one of which is through the creation of reservoirs. This research aims to design a reservoir as a solution to store water reserves to support agricultural activities in the experimental garden of IPB. The research location is located in one of the units of Babakan Sawah Baru Experimental Farm, IPB. The data used in this research are secondary data in the form of Bogor rainfall and climatology data for the last 20 years, and elevation data of the research location. The research procedure includes several stages, namely identification of the research location, literature study, data collection, data analysis, technical design, and cost budget plan. The shape of the reservoir follows the contour line at elevation 177.25-179.25 m above sea level with a depth of 2.5 m and a reservoir storage volume of 1228 m3. The spillway channel was designed in a trapezoidal shape with a base of 0.9 m, a peak of 1.8 m, and a depth of 0.4 m. The sluice gate uses steel with a height of 1.9 m, width and height of the door leaf of 0.5 m each. The cost budget required for the construction of the reservoir in Babakan Village is IDR 1,365,000,000.
