      Abstract

Human Papillomavirus is one of the sexually transmitted viruses that is highly contagious. Human Papillomavirus is classified into two types that are high risk mucosal types and low risk mucosal types. The high risk type is a major cause of one of the sexually transmitted diseases, namely cervical cancer, which affects women worldwide. This study aims to reconstruct a mathematical model for the spread of Human Papillomavirus infection, determine and analyze equilibrium points, conduct sensitivity analysis, and perform numerical simulations. The disease free equilibrium is stable when the basic reproduction number is less than one, while the endemic equilibrium occurs when the basic reproduction number is greater than one. The results of the numerical simulations show that to suppress the spread of Human Papillomavirus infection, efforts can be made by reducing contact with exposed individuals and symptomatic infected individuals, and increasing the recovery rate of infected individuals with symptoms.
