Identifikasi Jenis dan Pemanfaatan Limbah Agroindustri Sagu di Kabupaten Lingga
Abstract
Limbah agroindustri sagu di Kabupaten Lingga merupakan hasil sampingan dari pengolahan bahan baku produksi pati sagu. yang hingga kini belum dikelola secara optimal. Penelitian bertujuan mengidentifikasi terkait jenis, jumlah, pemanfaatan, dan penanganan limbah agroindustri sagu di Kabupaten Lingga. Penelitian menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi partisipatif, pengukuran bobot dan debit. Jenis limbah meliputi limbah kulit batang, ampas sagu, limbah sagu bersih, dan limbah cair. Total jumlah limbah kulit batang sebesar 68 ton, limbah ampas sagu 36,32 ton, limbah sagu bersih 8,8 ton, dan pendugaan total limbah cair mencapai 3.176,99 m3 yang dihasilkan oleh agroindustri sagu kotor, sagu bersih, dan pati kering. Limbah kulit batang dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan lantai tanah, serta pagar kebun. Ampas sagu dan limbah sagu bersih sebagai pakan ternak. Limbah cair dibuang langsung ke sungai tanpa pengolahan. Pengelolaan limbah agroindustri sagu belum dilakukan penanganan, sehingga perlu adanya rekomendasi IPAL (Instalasi pengolahan air limbah). Sago agro-industrial waste in Lingga Regency is a byproduct of raw material processing in sago starch production, which has not yet been optimally managed. This study aims to identify the types, quantities, utilization, and handling of sago agro-industrial waste in Lingga Regency. The research employed interviews, participatory observation, and measurements of weight and discharge volume. The types of waste include bark waste, sago pulp, clean sago waste, and liquid waste. The total amount of bark waste was 68 tons, sago pulp waste 36.32 tons, clean sago waste 8.8 tons, and the estimated total volume of liquid waste reached 3,176.99 m³, generated by unrefined sago, clean sago, and dried starch processing. Bark waste is used for soil flooring and garden fencing, while sago pulp and clean sago waste are utilized as livestock feed. Liquid waste is directly discharged into rivers without treatment. As the management of sago agro-industrial waste remains unaddressed, the development of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) is recommended.
