Lesson Learn Pengelolaan Lahan Gambut di Indonesia

Abstract

Indonesia has a large area of peatlands (more than 17 million hectares), but the utilization's of the lands were nct optimum yet. Many traditional people such as Bugiese, Banjarese, and Chinese have succeded peatland development in many place of Indonesia, however peat reclamations by goverment have caused their ecosystem damage. Dealing with those experiance, study on the peatland utilizations will be carried out in order to have lesson learn on the peatlands utilization for better management of peatlands in Indonesia.
