      Abstract

Kelurahan Kalaodi has a rich cultural heritage, one of which is the Paca Goya ritual, a tradition that has been practiced for an extended period. However, the continued existence of this ritual faces various challenges, particularly in light of the social and economic development within the community. This study examines the role of traditional leadership in the Paca Goya ritual, its level of existence, and its relationship with traditional leadership. A quantitative research method, supplemented with qualitative data obtained through surveys, interviews, and literature reviews, was employed. The findings indicate that the Sowohi leadership is significantly correlated with the level of existence of Paca Goya. The stronger the Sowohi leadership, the greater the presence of Paca Goya within the community. Strong leadership from Sowohi plays a crucial role in the preservation and continuity of this cultural ritual. Conversely, the Gosimo Golili leadership, which is more focused on administrative and governmental aspects, does not show a significant impact on the existence of Paca Goya, although it contributes to other areas such as natural resource management.
