      Abstract

The black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) is one of Indonesia's native shrimp species. Genetic differentiation between locations can be studied through morphological variation. This study aims to analyze genetic differentiation and morphogenetic variables among tiger shrimp subpopulations from three locations, Karawang, Jepara, and Situbondo. Sampling was conducted using purposive random sampling technique with a total of 96 individual samples and measured using tpsDig2 software. Data was analyzed using SPSS software, analysis of variance (ANOVA), principal component analysis (PCA), and discriminant function analysis (DFA). The results identified five morphometric characters that significantly differentiated the subpopulations, with the main character being the distance between the rostrum and epigastric spine (A-B). Classification analysis revealed accuracy rates of 93.8% for Karawang, 84.4% for Jepara, and 87.5% for Situbondo, suggesting potential gene flow between geographically close subpopulations.
