      Abstract

Seagrass meadow ecosystems are composed of seagrass plants and play a role as ecosystem stabilizers. The condition of the seagrass ecosystem on Pramuka Island has been declining annually, leading to damage to its ecosystem functions. This research aimed to assess the condition of the seagrass ecosystem based on changes in seagrass coverage and the impact of water temperature and total suspended solids. The data analysis conducted includes satellite and field processing data, classification of seagrass ecosystem conditions, and regression tests. According to the research results from 2018 to 2023, the seagrass covering area has shown a declining trend of 9.93 ha per year, with the majority of seagrass coverage in poor condition (<60%). The influence analysis shows that temperature, at 30.26%, can explain the impact on changes in seagrass ecosystem conditions better than the TSS parameter. The management strategy that needs to be implemented is the rehabilitation and development of seagrass ecosystem management regulations, considering factor that affect seagrass ecosystem coverage
