      Abstract

Increasing tilapia production must be followed by the provision of seeds so that nursery segmentation is needed to produce seeds ready for distribution. Therefore, intensification is needed by increasing stocking density with the consequence of improving water and feed management, for example by using a biofloc system. This study aims to analyze the performance of tilapia production and nursery efforts in the biofloc and conventional systems at Mina B Agribisnis. The study used tilapia larvae that were maintained for 42 days. The study used a completely randomized design with two treatments, namely nursery in the biofloc and conventional systems with three replications in the form of tarpaulin ponds. The results of the study stated that the biofloc system treatment produced better production performance and business performance. The use of the biofloc system resulted in a higher absolute weight growth rate and absolute length growth rate compared to the conventional system. The biofloc system also provides greater benefits by producing a production cost of Rp216/head, R/C ratio 1.5, payback period 1.4, while the conventional system produced a production cost of Rp227/head, R/C ratio 1.4, payback period 1.7. In further research, it is recommended to re-evaluate the application of the biofloc system, especially in increasing the C/N ratio in order to obtain better growth and business performance.
