      Abstract
Kendari City, which adopts the green city concept, faces challenges in maintaining the quality and quantity of public green spaces (RTH) as population density increases. In 2022, the population reached 98% of the 2021 population, with an increase in residential area of 122.44 hectares, reducing urban green spaces. The reduction of green spaces forces residents to travel further to enjoy public parks, which indirectly affects visitation rates. Ensuring the quantity and accessibility of urban green spaces near residential areas is crucial, alongside improving their quality. This study explores the accessibility of green open spaces using network accessibility methods and public perception, analyzed through Chi-square (x²) to determine usage levels and influencing factors. The analysis results show an increase in public green spaces from 2018 to 2023, with improved accessibility during that period, in line with urban planning efforts. However, green spaces are still not sufficiently integrated or connected within walking distance of built-up areas (residential areas). Public perception results indicate that usage is influenced by accessibility (distance), public transportation use, and other factors such as the visibility of park benefits, comfort, aesthetics, security, and greening. Therefore, this study recommends planning parks based on walkable radii at the micro level (Community Scale), such as residential areas, to optimize their use.
