      Abstract

The Gap Planting and Gap Cutting Silvicultural System (TRTR) is currently being developed as an effort to rehabilitate degraded natural forests. This research aims to obtain information related to the microclimate in the gap planting area and the degraded natural forest area. The results of the study show that gap planting has a positive impact on the development of soil pH, temperature, humidity, and light intensity in both treated and untreated gap areas. In general, the development of microclimate environmental components from 2021 to 2024 is as follows: (1) air and soil temperatures have decreased, (2) air and soil humidity have increased; (3) soil pH has risen; and (4) there is a significant difference in light intensity between the stands in the gap areas and the degraded natural forest areas, where the light intensity entering the stands in the gap areas is much higher than that entering the degraded natural forest areas.
