      Abstract

Flower-visiting insects are insects that directly visit flower parts, especially foraging activities. Insect diversity is related to the amount of flowers produced by a plant. Insects that visit flowers have varied roles including predators, parasitoids, pollinators, and phytophages. This study aims to determine the diversity and abundance of flower-visiting insects and to determine conservation efforts that can be carried out at the IPB Dramaga. This study was conducted by taking insect samples and vegetation observations at nine location points divided into three time periods. Insect samples and vegetation identification with the aid of identification books, journals, and the iNaturalist 1.30.15 application. The observation data tabulated and calculated the index of the Diversity (H'), Dominance (D), Evenness (E), and NMDS analysis. Fifty five insect species were found during direct observation and came from four Orders namely Lepidoptera, Hymenoptera, Diptera, and Coleoptera. Species Elaeidobius kamerunicus, Tetragonula laeviceps, Apis cerana, Apis dorsata, and Sarcophaga sp. were the top five types of insects found during direct observation. The highest diversity index value in the IPB-TOV location code indicates a balanced ecosystem condition. Dominance at the IPB FEM location indicated by index value (0.80), and the evenness index value is high indicated by index value range (0.76-0.81).
