      Abstract

Tidal flooding is a type of flood caused by the rise and fall of sea levels, resulting in seawater inundating the land. This tidal flooding is also known as inundation flooding. This study aims to map areas vulnerable to tidal flooding in 2023 and 2040, using inundation height models along the coastal areas of Pekalongan, Jawa Tengah Province. The method used involved analyzing the difference between ground surface elevation and the values of the highest tide, sea level rise, and land subsidence. The study found that the rate of land subsidence was 5.37 cm/year, the highest tide reached 2.23 m, and the sea level rise was 11.8 mm/year. The area affected by tidal flooding in Pekalongan City in 2023 covered 1,508.29 hectares, while in 2040, it was projected to increase to 2,389.95 hectares. The most affected land cover in 2023 was fishponds, as they were closest to the coastline, while in 2040, residential areas were projected to be the most affected.
