Binary options are illegal in Indonesia and have caused financial losses due to the public's lack of understanding of how they work. This study analyzes the influence of socio-demographic characteristics, financial literacy, and risk perception on the decision to use binary options. The research is a descriptive quantitative study using voluntary sampling, with a sample of 50 individuals who have used binary options for at least one month, 17 years or older, and possess a valid KTP. Data analysis included descriptive analysis, correlation tests, and multiple linear regression using Microsoft Excel 2019 and IBM SPSS 26. The correlation test showed that financial literacy has a significant negative relationship with the decision to use binary options, while socio-demographic characteristics and risk perception did not show a significant relationship. Regression results confirmed that financial literacy has a significant negative impact on the decision to use binary options, while residence, occupation, number of dependents, and risk perception did not have a significant influence. These findings recommend improving financial literacy and enforcing stricter regulations to prevent the use of high-risk financial products.
