Pengaruh Pemberian Palm Kernel Meal dan Kacang Koro (Canavalia ensiformis) dalam Ransum terhadap Kualitas Telur Puyuh
Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the effect of palm kernel meal (PKM) and jack bean in diets on the physical quality of quail eggs. The study used 240 quails aged 4 weeks, housed in colony cages with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 6 replications. P0K1 = diet with 100% commercial feed, P0K2 = diet with a corn-soy formulation, P1 = diet with a corn-soy formulation + the addition of PKM and jack bean, P2 = diet with the addition of PKM +jack bean formulation. The variables observed were egg weight, egg index, shell thickness, shell weight, shell percentage, albumen weight, albumen percentage, yolk weight, yolk percentage, yolk color score, and haugh unit (HU). The results of this study indicate that the provision of diets based on palm kernel meal (PKM) and jack bean had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the value of egg weight, egg index, shell thickness, shell weight percentage, white weight percentage, yellow weight percentage, yellow color, and haugh unit of quail eggs. It can be concluded that the provision of Palm Kernel Meal (PKM) and jack beans in quail rations does not have a negative effect on the quality of quail eggs and is still within the normal range, so can be used as alternative feed ingredients in poultry rations.
