      Pengaruh Vorteks Borneo Terhadap Kondisi Troposfer Atas dan Sebaran Spasial Curah Hujan

      Abstract
      Interaksi antara angin timur lautan yang bertiup di sekitar Pulau Borneo ketika monsun musim dingin Asia sedang aktif dengan angin baratan yang bertiup di ekuator sering kali memicu sirkulasi siklonik di wilayah tersebut. Vorteks Borneo (VB) merupakan salah satu fenomena yang khas terjadi di atas Laut Cina Selatan (LCS) selama periode monsun musim dingin Asia. VB berperan penting dalam proses deep convection yang kemudian memengaruhi curah hujan di sekitarnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui dampak VB terhadap kondisi troposfer atas dan sebaran spasial curah hujan. Dampak VB terhadap kondisi atmosfer diketahui melalui analisis komposit. Teridentifikasi sebanyak 258 hari dengan VB pada periode boreal winter tahun 2013/2014–2022/2023. Anomali negatif terjadi pada parameter vortisitas di barat laut pusat vorteks hasil komposit. Sementara itu, divergensi terjadi di sepanjang pesisir barat Pulau Borneo. Di atas LCS terjadi pergerakan massa udara ke atas yang kemudian menyebabkan tingginya akumulasi kelembapan dalam kolom vertikal. Seluruh parameter tersebut kemudian memengaruhi tingginya curah hujan di atas LCS, sebagian besar Pulau Borneo, serta pesisir timur Semenanjung Malaysia. Dilakukan juga analisis terhadap curah hujan observasi pada salah satu periode VB. Curah hujan yang tercatat di wilayah Kalimantan Barat menunjukkan dampak tertinggi oleh kejadian VB, sementara wilayah Kalimantan Timur menjadi wilayah yang paling kurang terdampak.
       
      The interaction between northeasterly surge near the Borneo Island and westerly winds over the equator often formed a synoptic-scaled wind circulation. Borneo vortex (BV) is one of the unique features of the Asian winter monsoon over the South China Sea (SCS). BV contributes to the deep convection processes, hence affecting the amount of rainfall. The objective of this research was to identify the impact of BV occurrence to upper troposphere conditions and spatial rainfall distribution during BV occurrences. Composite analysis was done to atmosphere parameters to find distinct pattern during the BV occurrences. There were 258 BV days identified through 10 periods of boreal winter starting from 2013/2014 to 2022/2023. Negative vorticity anomaly was identified on the southwest from the vortex center according to the composited wind streamline. Divergence dominated along the west coast of Borneo Island. Over the LCS, vertical velocity indicates upward movement of the wind and causes high moisture accumulation on a vertical column. The forementioned parameters causes relatively high rainfall over SCS, the majority of Borneo Island, and east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Rain gauge data from known meteorology stations over the Borneo Island was also analyzed. BV mostly affecting rainfall over West Kalimantan, meanwhile the rainfall over East Kalimantan was the least affected.
