Efektivitas In Ovo Feeding Ekstrak Daun Pegagan (Centella asiatica L.) terhadap Daya Tetas dan Kualitas Anak Ayam Sentul Umur 1 Hari
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh in ovo feeding (IOF) dengan ekstrak daun Pegagan (Centella asiatica L.) terhadap daya tetas dan kualitas anak ayam Sentul umur 1 hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan, setiap ulangan menggunakan 10 butir telur fertil ayam Sentul. Perlakuan terdiri atas P0 = telur tanpa injeksi, P1 = telur diinjeksi 0,5 ml PBS (phosphate-buffered saline), P2 = telur diinjeksi 0,5 ml PBS + 1 mg ekstrak Pegagan, P3 = telur diinjeksi 0,5 ml PBS + 2 mg ekstrak Pegagan, P4 = telur diinjeksi 0,5 ml PBS + 4 mg ekstrak Pegagan. Peubah yang diamati daya tetas bobot tetas, panjang tubuh, panjang femur, panjang tibia, panjang shank, skor aktivitas, skor bulu, skor mata, skor kaki, dan skor pusar. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam (ANOVA) dan jika terdapat hasil yang berbeda nyata, diuji lanjut dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa in ovo feeding ekstrak Pegagan berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap daya tetas, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap bobot tetas, panjang tubuh, panjang femur, panjang tibia, panjang shank, dan skor fisik DOC. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian in ovo feeding ekstrak Pegagan sampai dosis 4 mg dapat meningkatkan persentase daya tetas tetapi tidak berdampak pada bobot tetas, panjang tubuh, panjang femur, panjang tibia, panjang shank, skor aktivitas, skor bulu, skor mata, skor kaki, dan skor pusar anak ayam Sentul umur 1 hari yang masih pada kisaran normal. This study aimed to assess the effect of in ovo feeding (IOF) of Pegagan (Centella asiatica L.) leaf extract on hatchability and quality of Sentul DOC. This study used a completely randomised design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replicates, each replicate using 10 fertile eggs of Sentul chicken. The treatments consisted of P0 = egg without injection, P1 = egg injection with 0.5 ml PBS (phosphate-buffered saline), P2 = egg injection with 0.5 ml PBS + 1 mg Pegagan extract, P3 = egg injection with 0.5 ml PBS + 2 mg Pegagan extract, P4 = egg injection with 0.5 ml PBS + 4 mg Pegagan extract. The observed variables were hatching weight, body length, femur length, tibia length, shank length, activity score, fur score, eye score, foot score, and navel score. Data from the study were analysed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and if there were significantly different results (P>0.05), it was further tested with Duncan's test. The results showed that in ovo feeding of Pegagan extract had a significant effect (P>0.05) on hatchability, but no significant effect (P>0.05) on hatching weight, body length, femur length, tibia length, shank length, and physical score of DOC. It can be concluded that in ovo feeding of Pegagan extract up to a dose of 4 mg can increase the percentage of hatchability but has no impact on hatching weight, body length, femur length, tibia length, shank length, activity score, feather score, eye score, foot score, and navel score of Sentul DOC which are still in the normal range.
