      Abstract

Termite attacks on cajuput seedlings occurred in several Kesatuan Pemangkuan Hutan of Perum Perhutani. Previous studies have shown that n-hexane extract of eucalyptus roots showed bioactivity as termite bait. This study analyzes the bioactivity of multilevel maceration extract of cajuput (M. cajuputi) seedlings as bait for C. curvignathus termites. The extraction process used a multilevel maceration method with n-hexane, ethyl acetate, methanol, and aquadest solvents. Meanwhile, bioactivity testing was carried out using the no-choice feeding bioassay method. Using probit analysis, termite mortality values were calculated to obtain the median lethal concentration (LC50) value. The results showed that n-hexane extract was preferred over other extracts at all concentrations. Meanwhile, termite mortality in ethyl acetate extract gave a lower value than other solvent extracts. The LC50 value showed that the extract of eucalyptus sapling roots had low toxicity. All extracts at concentrations of 0.5%, 0.75%, and 1% were non-toxic and n-hexane extract had the potential as termite bait.
