      Abstract

Tilapia Oreochromis niloticus is one of the superior products and has economic value. Fish farming is always related to disease attacks, which is one of the problems and important aspects that must be considered. The presence of Aeromonas salmonicida bacteria is considered very dangerous in fish farming activities. This final project aims to identify Aeromonas salmonicida bacteria in tilapia fish. One method for identifying pathogenic bacteria in fish is by using conventional methods. Identification of Aeromonas salmonicida bacteria from the 7 samples of identified tilapia fish seeds obtained the highest results with a value of 66% in samples 1 and 4. This value was obtained from the calculation of the ammount of leading media divided by the amount of ATTC control media multiplied by 100%. The results obtained for 7 samples were not positive for Aeromonas salmonicida bacteria because in the positive control it was said that the bacterial identification results obtained were 90% to 100%. Farmers must continue to carry out routine bacteria checks to avoid losses.
