      Abstract

Silk cactus is one of the natural foods that has a high nutritional content and is used to provide nutritional intake for fish larvae. The pathogen bacteria found in silk worms is A. hydrophila, which can cause Motile Aeromonas Septicemia. The aim of this study is to find the right dosage of formalin in suppressing the A. hydrophila bacterial population and find the best procedure for washing out silk worms that are tested directly into larvae. Based on the results of the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and barrier zone tests, the correct dose of formalin to inhibit the growth of A. hydrophila bacteria in silk worms is 400 ppm. The study used the Complete Random Planning (RAL) method consisting of four treatments and three repetitions, i.e. control (silk grinding), immersion using formalin, immersion with formalin for 30 minutes with a single rinse, and immersions with formaline for 30 min with a double rinse. The results the best treatment in the treatment of silkwarm immersion by formalin 400 ppm for 30 minute with a two-time rinse was shown with a higher survival value of 44,6%.
