      Karakteristik Fermentasi, Estimasi Metana, dan Populasi Mikroba Rumen yang Diinokulasi Fungi Laut Endofit Secara In Vitro

      Abstract
      Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh inokulasi fungi laut endofit pada fermentasi di rumen, produksi total dan parsial Volatile Fatty Acid (VFA), populasi mikroba rumen, dan kecernaan bahan kering (KcBk) dan bahan organik (KcBO) secara in vitro. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan berbeda dan lima kali ulangan yaitu: P0 (kontrol), P1 (P0 + 1,5% (0,75 mL) miselia fungi laut), P2 (P0 + 3% (1,5 mL) miselia fungi laut), dan P3 (P0 + 4,5% (2,25 mL) miselia fungi laut). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa inokulasi fungi laut sampai taraf 4,5% tidak nyata memengaruhi populasi bakteri dan protozoa rumen, konsentrasi NH3, produksi VFA Total, proporsi asetat, propionat, butirat dan estimasi metan. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa fungi laut dapat digunakan tanpa mengubah komposisi fermentasi rumen secara drastis. Inokulasi fungi laut pada taraf 4,5% nyata (p<0,05) menurunkan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik. Penurunan tersebut masih berada dalam batas yang dapat diterima dan tidak mengganggu keseimbangan mikroba rumen. Berdasarkan variabel karakteristik fermentasi, estimasi metan dan populasi mikroba rumen, inokulasi fungi laut pada taraf 1,5% merupakan dosis optimal yang dapat meningkatkan fermentasi di rumen tanpa efek negatif yang signifikan terhadap mikroba rumen serta kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik. Secara keseluruhan, fungi laut endofit pada dosis ini berpotensi sebagai aditif pakan yang efektif, meningkatkan fermentabilitas rumen dan efisiensi nutrisi dengan dampak minimal pada produksi metana dan keseimbangan mikroba rumen.
       
      This study aimed to evaluate the effects of inoculating endophytic marine fungi on rumen fermentation, the production of total and partial Volatile Fatty Acids (VFA), rumen microbial populations, and the digestibility of dry matter (DM) and organic matter (OM) in vitro. The experimental design used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four different treatments and five replications: P0 (control), P1 (P0 + 1.5% (0.75 mL) marine fungi mycelium), P2 (P0 + 3% (1.5 mL) marine fungi mycelium), and P3 (P0 + 4.5% (2.25 mL) marine fungi mycelium). The results showed that inoculating marine fungi up to 4.5% had no significant effect on rumen bacterial and protozoal populations, NH3 concentration, total VFA production, acetate, propionate, butyrate proportions, and methane estimates. This indicates that marine fungi can be used without drastically altering rumen fermentation composition. Inoculating marine fungi at 4.5% significantly (p<0.05) reduced the digestibility of dry matter and organic matter. However, this reduction remained within acceptable limits and did not disrupt the balance of rumen microbes. Based on fermentation characteristics, methane estimation, and rumen microbial populations, inoculation with marine fungi at a 1.5% level is the optimal dose for enhancing rumen fermentation without significant adverse effects on rumen microbes, as well as dry matter and organic matter digestibility. Overall, endophytic marine fungi at this dosage have the potential to serve as an effective feed additive, improving rumen fermentability and nutrient efficiency with minimal impact on methane production and rumen microbial balance
