      Abstract

Super intensive cultivation activities have risks, one of which is the emergence of Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease (AHPND) by the bacteria Vibrio parahaemolyticus. This final project activity is aimed at determining the effectiveness of probiotics in suppressing the presence of Vibrio sp. bacteria in the waters. The probiotic application carried out was comparing the frequency of probiotic administration once a week and twice a week with a dose of 0,5 mL ton-1. The results showed that the application of probiotics once a week showed better shrimp survival conditions, apart from that the water quality also showed good conditions by showing an increased Total Bacterial Count (TBC) value and a decreased ammonia (NH3) value. This application of probiotics effective in treating shrimp infected with AHPND.
