      Abstract
      Bertambahnya jumlah penduduk berdampak pada peningkatan penggunaan bahan bakar fosil, namun bahan bakar fosil tersebut akan mencapai titik habis. Oleh karena itu perlunya penggunaan bahan bakar alternatif ramah lingkungan yang salah satunya berasal dari limbah kotoran rusa dan tempurung kelapa dalam bentuk biobriket sebagai bahan bakar alternatif ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik biobriket dan menentukan variasi komposisi terbaik biobriket. Dalam penelitian ini, terdapat tiga perlakuan penggunaan campuran kotoran rusa dan tempurung kelapa, yaitu perlakuan satu 70% kotoran rusa dan 30% tempurung kelapa, perlakuan dua 70% kotoran rusa dan 30% tempurung kelapa, dan perlakuan tiga 50% kotoran rusa dan 50% tempurung kelapa serta pengujian yang dilakukan berupa uji kadar abu, kadar air, nilai kalor, serta laju pembakaran. Berdasarkan analisis keempat karakteristik yang diuji, diketahui bahwa biobriket dengan perlakuan dua 70% kotoran rusa dan 30% tempurung kelapa merupakan biobriket terbaik dari ketiga perlakuan yang dilakukan.
       
      The increasing population has led to higher use of fossil fuels; however, these fuels are finite. Therefore, there is a need for environmentally friendly alternative fuels, one of which comes from waste such as deer manure and coconut shells in the form of biobriquettes. This study aims to identify the characteristics of biobriquettes and determine the optimal composition variations. Three treatments were used that is treatment one with 70% timor deer and 30% coconut shell, treatment two with 70% timor deer and 30% coconut shell, and treatment three with 50% timor deer and 50% coconut shell, with tests conducted on ash content, moisture content, calorific rate, and burning rate. Based on the analysis of these four tested characteristics, it is known that the biobriquette from treatment of two 70% timor deer and 30% coconut shell are the best biobriquettes of the three treatments carried out.
