      Abstract

Cats (Felis catus) are pets that are popular among by the public. However, cats can be easily infected with gastrointestinal parasites that cause various health problems. This case study aims is to discuss gross pathological changes in the internal organs of cats infected with cestode worms as one of the gastrointestinal parasites. The case analysis used secondary data from necropsy case reports and photographs of gross pathology in cats as primary data sources. The presence of large number of Dipylidium caninum cestode in the intestine can be an indication of dehydration, hypovolemic diarrhea, and severe anemia. This worm infestation causes hemorrhagic that triggers inflammation and decreases the body's immune response to bacterial infections, resulting in complications in various vital organs.
