dc.description.abstractAyam IPB-D3 merupakan jenis ayam lokal hasil seleksi ayam IPB-D1 generasi ke-3 berdasarkan bobot badan, pertumbuhan dan produksi daging yang baik, dapat dipanen pada umur 10 minggu pemeliharaan dengan bobot rata-rata 1,1- 1,3 Kg. Peningkatan suhu pada lingkungan pemeliharaan menyebabkan tubuh ayam kesulitan membuang panas tubuhnya, sehingga menimbulkan stres dan kinerja tubuh ayam dapat terganggu, oleh karena itu perlu adanya suplemen yang mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan dalam ransum sebagai penangkal stres panas. Salah satu jenis suplemen yang mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan yaitu vitamin E. Suplementasi vitamin E dalam ransum dianggap perlu untuk mencegah terjadinya proses peroksidasi, sehingga kerusakan komponen seperti lemak, protein, karbohidrat, dan DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) dapat terlindungi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi efektifitas suplementasi vitamin E dalam ransum yang berbeda kandungan nutriennya terhadap performa dan status kesehatan calon galur ayam IPB-D3. Ayam IPB-D3 yang digunakan sebanyak 160 ekor yang dipelihara sejak umur 5 hingga 12 minggu dan diberikan pakan perlakuan selama 4 minggu (umur 9 sampai 12 minggu). Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial 2 x 2, faktor pertama adalah kandungan nutrien yang berbeda, faktor kedua adalah suplementasi vitamin E. Setiap perlakuan terdiri atas 4 ulangan, masing-masing ulangan menggunakan 10 ekor ayam IPB-D3. Perlakuan yang diberikan terdiri atas P0E0 = ransum kontrol (sesuai kebutuhan ayam broiler cobb 2018) tanpa vitamin E, P1E0 = ransum kontrol dikurangi 3% kandungan EM dan 3% protein kasar, P0E200 = P0 + vitamin E 200 ppm, P1E200 = P1+vitamin E 200 ppm. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam (analyses of variance atau ANOVA) dan bila terdapat interaksi yang nyata, maka dilanjutkan dengan uji interaksi menggunakan software Minitab versi 19. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya interaksi (p<0,01) antara suplementasi vitamin E dalam ransum yang berbeda kandungan nutriennya terhadap konsumsi pakan. Kandungan nutrien yang berbeda secara nyata (p<0,05) menurunkan bobot akhir, pertambahan bobot badan, dan persentase pankreas, namun meningkatkan konversi pakan, eusinofil dan panjang relatif ileum. Suplementasi vitamin E 200 ppm dalam ransum secara nyata (p<0,05) menurunkan leukosit. Suplementasi vitamin E 200 ppm dalam ransum menghasilkan daging dengan persentase 6,38% lebih tinggi dibanding pada perlakuan tanpa vitamin E. Kandungan vitamin E daging paha ayam IPB-D3 yang disuplementasikan vitamin E 200 ppm sebesar 1,41-2,58 mg 100 g-1, lebih tinggi 87,94%-93,41% dibandingkan dengan daging paha ayam berdasarkan USDA (0,17 mg 100 g-1), sehingga berpotensi sebagai daging fungsional. Ayam IPB-D3 masih memberikan respon terhadap pemberian pakan dengan acuan standar broiler cobb (2018) dengan suplementasi vitamin E 200 ppm dan menghasilkan performa dan produksi yang baik serta berpotensi menghasilkan daging ayam fungsional.
dc.description.abstractIPB-D3 chicken is a type of local chicken selected from the 3rd generation IPB-D1 chicken based on body weight, growth and good meat production, it can be harvested at the age of 10 weeks of maintenance with an average weight of 1.1-1.3 Kg. The increase of temperature in the rearing environment causes the chicken body to have difficulty dissipating its body heat, causing stress and the performance of the chicken body can be disrupted, therefore it is necessary to have supplements that have antioxidant activity in the diet as an antidote to heat stress. The supplementation of vitamin E in the diet is considered necessary to prevent the peroxidation process, so the damage to components such as fat, protein, carbohydrates, and DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) can be protected. The purposed of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of vitamin E supplementation in diets with different nutrient content on the performance and health status of IPB-D3 chicken breed candidates. This research used 160 IPB-D3 which were reared from 5 to 12 weeks of age and given the treatment diet for 4 weeks (9 to 12 weeks of age). This study used a completely randomized design 2 x 2 factorial pattern, the first factor was different nutrient content, the second factor was vitamin E supplementation. There were 4 replications of each treatment, each replicate using 10 IPB-D3 chickens. The treatments consisted of P0E0 = control diet (according to the needs of broiler chickens cobb 2018) without vitamin E, P1E0 = control diet minus 3% EM content and minus 3% crude protein, P0E200 = P0 + vitamin E 200 ppm, P1E200 = P1 + vitamin E 200 ppm. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and if there was interaction, then continued with the interaction test using Minitab software version 19. The results showed that there interaction (p<0.01) between vitamin E supplementation in diets with different nutrient content on feed consumption. The different nutrient content significantly (p<0.05) decreased final weight, body weight gain, and pancreas percentage, but increased feed conversion, eusinophils and ileum relative length. Supplementation of 200 ppm vitamin E in the diet significantly (p<0.05) decreased leukocytes. Vitamin E supplementation of 200 ppm vitamin E in the diet produced meat with a percentage of 6.38% higher than in the treatment without vitamin E. Vitamin E content of IPB-D3 chicken thigh meat supplemented with 200 ppm vitamin E amounted to 1.41-2.58 mg 100 g-1, higher by 87.94%-93.41% compared to chicken thigh meat based on USDA (0.17 mg 100 g-1), so it has potential as functional meat. IPB-D3 chickens are still responding to diet with Cobb's standard broiler reference (2018) with 200 ppm vitamin E supplementation and produce good performance as well as production and have the potential to produce functional chicken meat.
