      Abstract
      PT XYZ merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang flexible packaging dengan merk jual Arlene dan Areta yang menerapkan strategi produksi make to order. Permasalahan yang timbul di perusahaan yaitu terdapatnya penumpukan excess stock atau barang jadi tidak bertuan pada gudang penyimpanan yang dapat mengakibatkan kerugian karena ada aset mengendap dan menaikkan biaya penyimpanan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengungkapkan akar penyebab terjadinya penumpukan excess stock dan mencari solusi yang tepat dalam mengatasinya. Proses identifikasi masalah untuk menemukan sebab potensial menggunakan fishbone analysis, didapati hasil adanya penyimpangan dalam penggunaan bahan baku karena belum adanya sistem perhitungan secara matematis dan konkret dan tidak terlibatnya excess stock sebagai on hand inventory saat melakukan penjadwalan produksi, yang membuat penyusutan nilai excess stock rendah. Metode yang digunakan adalah master production schedule atau jadwal induk produksi yang membutuhkan input dari forecasting atau peramalan permintaan dan perencanaan agregat, serta menggunakan material requipment planning yang diharapkan dapat membantu perusahaan dalam mengeliminasi excess stock.
       
      PT XYZ is a company engaged in flexible packaging with Arlene and Areta selling brands that implement a make-to-order production strategy. The problem that arises in the company is the accumulation of excess stock or finished goods in the storage warehouse which can result in losses because there are assets settling and increasing storage costs. The purpose of this research is to reveal the root cause of the excess stock and find the right solution to solve it. The process of identifying problems to find potential causes using fishbone analysis, found the results of irregularities in the use of raw materials due to the absence of a mathematical and concrete calculation system and the exclusion of excess stock as on hand inventory when scheduling production, which makes the depreciation value of excess stock low. The method used is a master production schedule that requires input from forecasting and aggregate planning, and uses material requipment planning which is expected to help the company eliminate excess stock.
