dc.description.abstractBiji sorgum memiliki potensi sebagai alternatif perbaikan pakan pada ayam petelur karena mengandung protein yang tinggi. Tujuan dari penelitian untuk menganalisa potensi biji sorgum dalam pakan terhadap performa dan produktivitas pada ayam. Penelitian ini menggunakan 10 ekor ayam Lohman brown. Perlakuan terbagi menjadi 2 yaitu perlakuan 1 ayam diberi sorgum sebanyak 120 gr/ekor dan perlakuan 2 ayam sebagai kontrol. Parameter yang diamati meliputi performa dan produktivitas. Pengamatan dianalisa secara kuantitatif dengan Microsoft excel dan Uji T. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberian biji sorgum pada ayam petelur berpengaruh baik terhadap seluruh parameter meliputi Hen Day Production (HDP), Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), bobot telur, kualitas telur, konsumsi pakan dan kenaikan bobot badan. Hasil Uji T menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata terhadap performa dan produktivitas ayam petelur. Biji sorgum memiliki sumber energi protein yang tinggi sehingga kebutuhan nutrisi dalam formulasi pakan dapat terpenuhi dengan baik diiringi oleh pertumbuhan dan bobot badan ayam petelur. Pemberian biji sorgum dapat menjadi alternatif perbaikan dan penambahan pakan ayam petelur.
dc.description.abstractSorghum seeds have the potential as an alternative feed improvement for laying hens because they contain high protein. The aim of this research was to analyze the potential of sorghum seeds in feed on the performance and productivity of chickens. This study used 10 Lohman Brown chickens. The treatment was divided into two groups: treatment 1, where chickens were given 120 grams of sorghum per chicken, and treatment 2 as the control group. The observed parameters included performance and productivity. Observations were analyzed quantitatively using Microsoft Excel and the T-Test. The results showed that the provision of sorghum seeds to laying hens positively affected all parameters, including HDP, FCR, egg weight, egg quality, feed consumption, and body weight gain. The T-Test results showed significant differences in the performance and productivity of laying hens. Sorghum seeds have a high protein energy source, ensuring that the nutritional needs in feed formulation are well met, accompanied by the growth and body weight of laying hens. The provision of sorghum seeds can be an alternative for improving and supplementing the feed for laying hens.
