      Abstract

Black soldier fly is a type of larva that can convert and reduce the mass of quail excreta waste. This research aimed to identify the nutrient content of maggots produced from maggots given quail excreta without and with fermentation through proximate analysis. The study was conducted at the IPB Vocational School Livestock Laboratory, from July to October 2023. This research was carried out through several stages, namely: media preparation, excreta bioconversion, harvesting, drying and flouring, and nutrient analysis. The treatments in this study were unfermented excreta (P0) and fermented excreta (P1). The proximate test was carried out by the Integrated Laboratory of Nutrition Science Feed Technology, Faculty of Animal Science, Bogor Agricultural Institute, by sending a 50 g sample of maggot flour. The results of analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that the results were not significantly different (P > 0,05). The crude protein content of fresh maggot P0 (12,.61%) was higher than that of P1 (9,8%). In maggot flour, the crude protein content of P0 (40,895%) is lower than P1 (41,55%). Fresh maggots with high nutrients are produced from a medium in the form of unfermented excreta. Maggot flour with high nutrients is obtained from a maggot growing medium in the form of fermented excreta.
