dc.description.abstract | ARDHIANSYAH PERDANA NASUTION. Prevalensi Dermatofitosis pada
Hewan Kesayangan dan Hubungannya Dengan Kelembaban Lingkungan Serta
Pengetahuan Pemilik di Gustavet Klinik. Dibimbing oleh TETTY BARUNAWATI
SIAGIAN.
Prevalensi infeksi dermatofitosis berhubungan dengan kelembaban dan
tingkat pengetahuan pemilik.
menunjukkan prevalensi dermatofitosis periode Agustus-Oktober 2023 yaitu 1,85%.
dc.description.sponsorship | ARDHIANSYAH PERDANA NASUTION. Prevalence of Dermatophytosis in
Pets and Its Relationship with Environmental Humidity and Owner Knowledge at
Gustavet Klinik. Supervised by TETTY BARUNAWATI SIAGIAN.
The prevalence of dermatophytosis infection is related to humidity and the
owner's level of knowledge. This study aims to obtain information about the
relationship between humidity and dermatophytosis infection, as well as the
owner's level of knowledge about fungal infections in pets. The research data were
obtained from patient medical records and BMKG data from August to October
2023, as well as structured questionnaire interviews from 45 respondents who
visited Gustavet Clinic. The data were analyzed quantitatively using Microsoft
Excel and described. The study results showed a prevalence of dermatophytosis
from August to October 2023 of 1.85%. Dermatophytosis cases are influenced by
humidity and the owner's level of knowledge because fungi can easily grow and
spread in high-humidity environments and among owners who are unaware of
fungal infections in pets. The prevalence of dermatophytosis infection is directly
proportional to weather humidity, as evidenced in October with a prevalence rate
of 2.2% and an average daily humidity of 74.3%, totaling 34 cases. In August, the
prevalence rate was 1.9% with an average daily humidity of 68.3%, totaling 30
cases. In September, the prevalence rate was 1.4% with an average daily humidity
of 65.08%, totaling 24 cases. The owner's level of knowledge about fungal
infections was 57.7%, knowledge about transmission to humans was 15.5%, and
handling of infected animals by taking them to the vet was 44.5%.
