      Abstract

Ectoparasitosis is still a neglected disease in animals and humans, there is still limited information regarding the incidence of the disease and the increasing number of pet cats is an obstacle in controlling it. Therefore, scientific studies of ectoparasitosis in cats are needed to determine control strategies. The aim of writing this research report is to describe the percentage of infestation of each type of ectoparasite, the degree of ectoparasite infestation, and the treatment of cats infested with ectoparasites at the Satwagia Tanah Baru veterinary clinic. The Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) internship was held at the Satwagia Tanah Baru veterinary clinic in from 1 August to 31 October 2023. The data collection method in this writing consists of primary data and secondary data. The Ctenocephalides felis flea is a type of ectoparasite with the highest percentage, namely 62.76%. Ectoparasites in cats with very high degrees of infestation were found in Ctenocephalides Felis, Felicola Subrostratus fleas, and Otodectes cynotis mites, while Sarcoptes scabiei mites were found with low degrees of infestation
