      Abstract

Beef is the primary contributor to ruminant meat in Indonesia. Despite the considerable potential for cattle farming development, the adaptation of cattle to the tropical climate of Indonesia poses a challenge. This study identifies the physiological adaptation abilities of local female cattle based on age groups in Wadung Village, Jenu District, Tuban Regency. The research involves three female cattle in each age group (calf, heifer, and cow), with analyzed parameters including environmental conditions, physiological responses, and physiological adaptations. Data obtained were analyzed using One-way ANOVA. The results indicate that cows have a higher adaptation capacity than heifers, while heifers show better adaptation than calves.
