Sungai Besar Village Forest is a village forest managed by a community group in Sungai Besar Village, Matan Hilir Selatan District, Ketapang Regency, West Kalimantan Province. The Community Group that manages Sungai Besar VF has a strong commitment to sustainable forest management. To minimize the negative impact of forest exploitation on plant biodiversity in the area, it is necessary to identify the presence of protected and/or rare plant species, their threats, as well as management and monitoring efforts for biodiversity that need to be carried out. This research aims to identify the habitat conditions and biodiversity of plants in the Sungai Besar VF area, Ketapang Regency, West Kalimantan Province. The richness of plant species found in the Sungai Besar VF area is 76 species which can be grouped into 39 families. Based on location, the highest plant species richness is found in transect 5 (55 species) and the least is found in transect 7 (10 species). The diversity of plant species in the Sungai Besar VF area ranges from low to medium (0.000 to 2.659), while the density of plant species ranges from 0 to 35,750 ind./ha. Based on its protection status, in the Sungai Besar VF area there are no protected plant species according to Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. P.106 of 2018; However, it was found that 2 types of plants were included in the CITES Appendix II List, 2 types of plants were in the VU/Vulnerable category, and 1 type of plant was classified as CR/Critically Endangered according to the IUCN. There are 4 threats to plant biodiversity in the Sungai Besar VF area, namely (1) Illegal logging, (2) Area encroachment, (3) Availability of resources to manage and monitor plants is still lacking, and (4) Forest and land fires. Plant biodiversity management activities in the Sungai Besar VF area that need to be carried out include boundary marking, internal and external outreach, prevention and protection of plant biodiversity, further surveys of the population status of plant species, as well as coordination with relevant agencies and the community. Plant biodiversity monitoring activities that need to be carried out include biodiversity and plant density, the effectiveness of preventing and overcoming disturbances to plant biodiversity, and monitoring the intensity of disturbances to plant biodiversity.id
