dc.description.abstractAktivitas penangkapan ikan di alam secara intensif di beberapa wilayah penyebaran ikan gabus menyebabkan penurunan populasi di beberapa wilayah di Indonesia. Praktik budidaya ikan dapat menyelamatkan ikan yang terancam punah dan memproduksi ikan yang terdomestikasi Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji tahapan domestikasi awal ikan gabus Channa limbata meliputi aklimatisasi dan status seksualitasnya sebagai dasar pengembangan budidaya ikan gabus hias. Hasil pengamatan dimorfisme seksual ikan C. limbata yang berupa 29 karakter morfometrik, 6 karakter meristik dan ciri lubang urogenital menunjukkan tidak adanya perbedaan nyata antar dua jenis kelamin. Aklimatisasi dilakukan selama 14 hari dengan pemeliharaan pada ukuran yang berbeda yaitu ukuran 50-100mm, 100-150mm dan >150mm. Nilai sintasan terendah pada aklimatisasi didapatkan pada kelompok ikan dengan ukuran >150mm sebesar 75%.id
dc.description.abstractThe intensive fishing activities in several habitats of snakehead fish have led to a decline in populations in various regions of Indonesia. The practice of fish farming can help save endangered fish populations and cultivate domesticated fish. This research aims to study the initial domestication stages of Channa limbata snakehead fish, including acclimatization and their sexual status, serving as a foundation for the development of ornamental snakehead fish cultivation. Observations of sexual dimorphism in C. limbata involved 29 morphometric characters, 6 meristic characters, and characteristics of the urogenital pore, revealing no significant differences between the two genders. Acclimatization was conducted over 14 days, maintaining fish of different sizes: 50-100mm, 100-150mm, and >150mm. The lowest survival rate was observed in fish group larger than 150mm was at 75%.id
