Persepsi dan Minat Kerja Anak Petani di Sektor Pertanian Hortikultura

Abstract

Sektor pertanian adalah sebuah sektor yang penting bagi keberlangsungan kehidupan masyarakat negara, khususnya pertanian hortikultura. Kendati demikian, terdapat masalah yaitu meningkatnya usia rata-rata petani dan menurunnya minat generasi muda terhadap dunia pertanian. Oleh karena itu, regenerasi petani menjadi isu yang penting untuk dibahas. Penelitian ini melihat karakteristik diri anak petani menjadi faktor yang berhubungan terhadap minat dan keputusan anak petani berkontribusi di sektor pertanian. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melihat pengaruh karakteristik individu dan faktor eksternal terhadap aspek kognisi, konasi, dan afeksi sebagai minat kerjanya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode kuantitatif dengan instrumen kuesioner dan didukung dengan data kualitatif melalui wawancara mendalam serta observasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan antara karakteristik diri, persepsi, dan minat anak petani. Karakteristik diri yang paling berhubungan adalah pengalaman bertani sehingga anak petani yang memiliki pengalaman bertani yang tinggi dominan memiliki persepsi yang baik dan minat yang tinggi dalam memandang sektor pertanian.

The agricultural sector is an important sector for the continuity of life of the country's people, especially horticultural agriculture. However, there are problems, namely the increasing average age of farmers and the decreasing interest of the younger generation in the world of agriculture. This research looks at the self-characteristics of farmers' children as factors that relate to farmers' children's interests and decisions to contribute to the agricultural sector. The aim of this research is to see the influence of individual characteristics and external factors on aspects of cognition, communication and affection as work interests. The method used in this research is a quantitative method with a questionnaire instrument and supported by qualitative data through in-depth interviews and observations. The results of this research are that there is a relationship between the personal characteristics, perceptions and interests of farmer children. The personal characteristic that is most related is farming experience so that farmer children who have a lot of farming experience predominantly have good perceptions and high interest in looking at the agricultural sector.
