Pengetahuan, Sikap, dan Praktik tentang Kental Manis pada Ibu Balita di Perdesaan dan Perkotaan di Wilayah Cirebon
Abstract
Kental manis merupakan produk tinggi gula (>40%) yang seringkali diasumsikan masyarakat sebagai susu sehingga sebagian ibu tetap memberikan kental manis kepada anaknya secara rutin. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengetahuan, sikap, dan praktik tentang kental manis pada ibu balita di perdesaan dan perkotaan di wilayah Cirebon. Penelitian comparative cross sectional dilaksanakan di Cirebon, Jawa Barat pada bulan Desember 2022–Februari 2023. Wilayah perdesaan diwakili Desa Windujaya sedangkan perkotaan diwakili Kelurahan Kesambi. Subjek dipilih secara purposive sampling dan diperoleh 41 subjek untuk masing-masing wilayah. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa subjek perdesaan dan perkotaan memiliki perbedaan signifikan (p<0,05) pada variabel pendidikan, status kerja, pendapatan keluarga, jenis media informasi, sikap, dan kecukupan gizi makro. Balita yang mengonsumsi dan tidak mengonsumsi kental manis menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan pada variabel usia, status gizi BB/U, usia subjek, kecukupan karbohidrat, kalsium, dan vitamin B12. Terdapat hubungan signifikan (p<0,05) antara sikap dengan frekuensi konsumsi kental manis. Terdapat hubungan signifikan antara kebiasaan konsumsi kental manis dengan status gizi BB/TB. Sweetened condensed products have a high sugar content (>40%) but are often assumed to be milk, so some mothers of toddlers do not hesitate to give these products to their children regularly. This study aimed to analyze knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding sweetened condensed products among mothers of under-five children in rural and urban areas in Cirebon district. A comparative cross-sectional study was conducted in Cirebon, West Java, in December 2022–February 2023. Rural areas were represented by Windujaya Village, while urban areas were represented by Kesambi Village. Subjects were selected by purposive sampling, and 41 subjects were obtained for each region. The results showed that rural and urban subjects had significant differences (p<0.05) in the variables of education, employment status, family income, type of source information, attitudes, and adequacy of macronutrients. Under-five children who consume and do not consume sweetened condensed products showed significant differences in the variables of age, WFA nutritional status, subject's age, adequacy of carbohydrates, calcium, and vitamin B12. There was a significant relationship (p<0.05) between knowledge and attitudes with the consumption frequency of sweetened condensed products. There was a significant relationship between consumption habits of sweetened condensed products with WFH nutritional status.
