      Evaluasi Pakan Mengandung Ulat Hongkong terhadap Kualitas Fisik Telur Ayam Arab Golden (Gallus turcicus)

      Abstract
      Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh pemberian ulat hongkong dalam ransum terhadap kualitas fisik telur ayam arab golden. Penelitian ini menggunakan 80 ekor ayam arab golden fase layer dengan umur 26-29 minggu. Penelitian dilakukan di Lab.Lapangan Unit Sahara Terintegrasi sebagai tempat pemeliharaan ternak dan Lab. Nutrisi Unggas sebagai tempat pengujian kualitas fisik telur. Rancangan percobaan dan analisis data menggunakan uji independent sample t-test dengan menggunakan 2 perlakuan dan 8 ulangan dengan masing- masing ulangan terdiri atas 5 ekor ayam. Ransum perlakuan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah: P0 = ransum kontrol (tanpa penggunaan ulat hongkong) dan P1 = ransum mengandung ulat hongkong 4% ulat hongkong. Peubah yang diukur dalam penelitian ini adalah bobot telur, indeks telur, tebal kerabang, bobot kerabang, warna kerabang, warna kuning telur, % putih, kuning, dan kerabang telur, serta Haugh Unit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ulat hongkong sebanyak 4% nyata (P<0,05) meningkatkan warna kuning telur, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap peubah lainnya. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ulat hongkong sebesar 4% dapat digunakan dalam pakan dan dapat meningkatkan kualitas telur dari segi warna kuning telur dari skor 8,51 menjadi skor 9,31.
       
      This research was aimed to evaluated the feed containing mealworm on the physical quality of golden Arabian chicken eggs (Gallus turcicus). This study used 80 golden Arabian layer chickens aged 26-29 weeks. The chickens were reared at Field Laboratory Unit Sahara Terintegrasi, while egg quality testing was analyzed at the Poultry Animal Nutrition Laboratory. Experimental design and data analysis used an independent sample t-test using 2 treatment and 8 replicate with each replicate consisting of 5 chickens. The treatment diet used in this study were: P0 = control diet (without the use of Mealworm) and P1 = diet containing 4% Mealworm. The variables measured in this study were egg weight, egg index, shell thickness, shell weight, shell color, yolk color, % egg white, % egg yolk, % eggshell, and haugh unit. The results showed that diet containing 4% Mealworm significantly (P<0,05) increased yolk color, but not significantly effect on other variable. The conclusion this study is that Mealworm of 4% can be used in feed and can improve egg quality in terms of egg yolk color from the score of 8.51 to score 9.31.
