dc.description.abstract | The application of the Green Revolution has provided many benefits for the
agricultural sector. However, empirical studies stated that the Green Revolution
through increased agricultural productivity could cause opposing effects to the
environment. The effect of an increase in agricultural productivity can be either
"forest-saving" or "forest-clearing". This paper will analyse the effect of an increase
in agricultural productivity in Indonesia on deforestation using analytical models
developed by Angelsen and Kaimowitz (2001). The findings imply that there are
correlation between increasing agricultural productivity with deforestation in
Indonesia. | id |
