      Abstract
      Ikan kerapu bebek Cromileptes altivelis (Valenciennes, 1828) adalah salah satu jenis ikan laut bernilai ekonomi tinggi untuk ekspor ikan hidup yang dibudidayakan di Indonesia. Problem utama budidaya ikan kerapu bebek adalah pertumbuhannya yang lambat, sehingga perlu upaya mempercepat pertumbuhannya untuk efisiensi ongkos produksi dan menekan risiko kegagalan. Seiring dengan berkembangnya bioteknologi modern, pertumbuhan dapat dipercepat dengan memanfaatkan hormon pertumbuhan rekombinan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji respons pertumbuhan, komposisi biokimia dan imunitas bawaan benih ikan kerapu bebek setelah perlakuan hormon pertumbuhan rekombinan ikan kerapu kertang Epinephelus lanceolatus (rElGH).
       
      The humpback grouper Cromileptes altivelis (Valenciennes, 1828) is one of the most expensive marine fish cultured in Indonesia. The main problem encountered in the culture of this species is its low growth rate, therefore effort to fastening growth rate was needed for making aquaculture more efficient in terms of minimizing cost production and risk. With the development of modern biotechnology, growth has been improved through the use of various preparations of exogenous homologous or heterologous growth hormone (GH). In the present study, we investigated the growth response, biochemical composition and innate immunity of the juvenile humpback grouper after treatment with recombinant Epinephelus lanceolatus growth hormone (rElGH).
